Supervision

Sue McCann is a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor and a Registered Play Therapy-Supervisor who specializes in teaching her creative and experiential techniques to those interested in pursuing licensure as an LPC in the State of Louisiana and/or seeking the Association for Play Therapy’s Registered Play Therapist credential.  Sue assists supervisees in the following specialty areas:  Couple/Marriage Counseling, Addiction Counseling, Play Therapy with Children and Adolescents, Trauma Recovery, and School Counseling.  Sue encourages professional and personal exploration as part of the supervision process and provides services to supervisees in an affirming, encouraging atmosphere.  Supervisees often have opportunities to work directly with Sue’s play therapy mentors and present at professional conferences.  Sue remains committed to the process of supervision and offers each supervisee unique opportunities to increase skill and competence as a counselor in his/her chosen setting. Sue McCann in small group supervision session Sue is a Qualified Filial Therapy Trainer and offers formal training and supervision in Dr. Rise Vanfleet’s Intensive Filial Therapy protocol.  Additionally, she is an Experiential Play Therapy Supervisor who offers supervision in Drs. Carol and Byron Norton’s Experiential Play Therapy model.  Sue has also completed training in Sandtray-Worldplay Therapy and offers consultation in Dr. Gisela DeDomenico’s technique as part of her supervision services.  She also supervises school counselors and offers a particular expertise in promoting systemic change on school campuses.  Sue specializes in preparing supervisees to work in private practice. 504 832-4096
